Do I need to be in Los Angeles to work with Y&M Jewelry?

We work with clients located anywhere in the world, and the process is not hindered by remote communication. Many clients reach out to Y&M Jewelry because they don’t have access to the Los Angeles diamond district but want to take advantage of its expansive inventory. All rings can be shipped by a fully insured courier to any location in the US as well as internationally. Please let us know where you are when you inquire here.

Are Y&M Jewelry’s services only for engagement rings?

By no means! We create custom jewelry of all kinds and can accommodate. While engagement rings are often the first piece of jewelry that we make for a client, we happily create jewelry for other occasions, such as wedding bands, everyday stackers, pendants, earrings, bracelets, and also used watches.

Can Y&M Jewelry help me create a ring if I have my own stone?

Of course—if you inherited a stone, or have already bought one, we are happy to work with you to create the perfect setting to best enhance it.

What if I don’t know anything about ring design?

A-ok. Designing a custom ring may sound daunting, but we walk you through it. Our individualized, personal attention leads you through the design choices to a ring that reflects your and your fiancée’s style and budget.

Wouldn’t it be easier to buy a diamond online?

We strongly advise against this. While the GIA grading system determining a diamond’s quality and value is reliable, each stone can have idiosyncrasies that alter its visual appearance from what the numbers might suggest. What’s more, only 10% of diamonds available globally are listed online. Our status as an importer allows us to search the worldwide market, accessing diamonds not seen online. We form the widest selection before we present the options to you—meaning we will show you the best stones to consider for purchase.

How will my ring be shipped?

All pieces of Jewelry are packaged with care and shipped fully insured by a two-day courier. International shipping options are also available.

What will I pay in tax?

All orders shipped within California are subject to state sales tax. Orders shipped out-of-state or internationally will not be charged sales tax.

What can I do to keep my jewelry in the best condition?

Fine jewelry is delicate and should be cared for accordingly. To extend the life of your jewelry and keep them in optimal condition please follow the following care instructions:

Take off your jewelry before your daily rituals such as: showering, lotion, perfume, etc.

Leave your jewelry at home before engaging in strenuous activities.

Keep your jewelry away from chemicals including as perfume, hair spray, cosmetics and lotion.

To clean your diamond jewelry, use a soft toothbrush and dish soap and gently scrub gold and diamonds. We also provide complementary in store cleaning and inspection of all rings sold.

What kind of paperwork do I need to report my purchase(s) to my insurance agency?

Once your ring is complete, we will provide you with an appraisal that you can present to an insurance company. We recommend Jeweler’s Mutual as the most reputable, easy to work with company for stand alone jewelry insurance policies.
